I'm Eli Newman, a builder focused on using applied machine learning to solve real problems and save people time. I study Computer Science at the University of Denver, but most of what I've learned has come from building things in the real world.

The journey
At my internship with Multimodal, I engineered automation pipelines that processed thousands of client documents, saving analysts over a thousand hours and turning messy workflows into efficient systems.
Before that, I designed and launched Flick2Split, an AI-powered bill-splitting app that went live on the App Store — it felt really cool to know that I had built something that people were using.
I start with the problem, not the tech. Every product needs a story — a real user pain point — before it deserves code. I like experimenting with ideas, prototyping fast, and pushing things into production. For me, engineering is about momentum: learning new tools, deploying new systems, and landing new tricks, just like snowboarding.
I'm drawn to startup environments where speed, creativity, and ownership matter. I want to keep building systems that merge ML and practical design — tools that make people's lives faster, simpler, and smarter.
